Please keep in mind that Santa Fe is at 7,000 feet above sea level in what is considered the high desert. Santa Fe is higher than the “mile high city” of Denver. Altitude sickness is a problem that can occur when you travel to this elevation. The air at high altitudes contains less oxygen than at sea level, so your body has to work harder to get the oxygen it needs. Give your body time to adjust – even if you consider yourself to be physically fit.
We acknowledge that Santa Fe, New Mexico, is located in the ancestral and unceded traditional territories of the Tewa people, who continue to maintain connections to this land. Thousands of years ago, O’ghe P’oghe – the original Tewa name for Santa Fe, which means White Shell, Water Place – was a center place for Northern and Southern Tewa communities. We honor the Tewa people of the past, present, and future who inhabited, held sacred, and stewarded this land.
The portfolio review events and photo symposium is scheduled for Nov 17-20, 2022. We are planning on hosting in-person events as well as offering some online components. However, the in-person programming is subject to change as CENTER reserves the right to make the necessary changes to ensure the safety of its staff, participants, and the public.
The health and safety of our community is our highest priority. We will be asking all Review Santa Fe participants (photographers and reviewers) to send us proof of vaccination. If you are not vaccinated and boosted, please let us know asap. Everyone will need to be vaccinated and masked at all events and reviews with N95 masks, per the CENTER 2022 policy. Thank you for your understanding.
